Rishikesh. Due to the rising water level of the Ganges River due to continuous torrential rains in Rishikesh, the administration has tightened security arrangements. All teams from the SDRF, Water Police, and Disaster Relief Team are on alert. Teams have been deployed at major ghats along the Ganges and are constantly monitoring the water level. Teams are also conducting regular patrols to ensure immediate assistance in case of any emergency.

Devotees and Kanwar pilgrims are being alerted through loudspeakers. They are urged not to approach the strong current and to bathe only at designated, safe paved ghats. Local residents living along the river banks are also being issued periodic instructions. They are advised to remain vigilant and immediately move to safer locations if the water level rises further.
