Singaporean passport holders can travel to 192 destinations without obtaining a visa in advance or with visa-on-arrival access, according to the latest Henley Passport Index published by residence and citizenship advisory firm Henley & Partners on July 21.
The United Arab Emirates recorded the strongest improvement since the January update, rising three places to share second place with Japan and South Korea.
Citizens of all three countries can access 188 destinations without obtaining a visa in advance.

“The UAE has recorded the largest improvement of any passport in the index’s history, gaining access to 153 additional visa-free destinations over the past two decades and climbing from the middle of the rankings to become one of the world’s most powerful passports.
“The shift highlights how sustained diplomatic engagement and international cooperation can significantly expand a country’s global mobility,” the index wrote.
Sweden ranked third with visa-free or visa-on-arrival access to 187 destinations.
Now in its 20th year, the Henley Passport Index shows that the average passport provides visa-free access to 108 destinations worldwide, up from just 58 when the index was first launched in 2006.
Henley & Partners said global travel freedom has expanded significantly over the past two decades.
Vietnam’s passport ranked 87th in the latest ranking, with holders enjoying visa-free or visa-on-arrival access to 49 destinations worldwide.
The Henley Passport Index tracks global travel freedom across 227 countries and territories, using exclusive data from the International Air Transport Association (IATA).
It ranks 199 passports based on the number of destinations their holders can enter without obtaining a visa in advance. Updated regularly throughout the year to reflect changes in visa policies, the index is widely regarded as a key measure of global mobility.
