New Delhi. The opposition’s uproar continued in both the Houses of Parliament on Thursday over the NEET question paper leak issue. After the first adjournment, the proceedings started at 12 o’clock but the opposition MPs raised loud slogans demanding the resignation of Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan. Due to the uproar, the proceedings of Lok Sabha and Rajya Sabha were again adjourned till 2 pm.
Presiding Officer Dilip Saikia started the proceedings in the Lok Sabha. As soon as the House proceedings began, opposition members got up from their seats and started raising slogans. Opposition members raised slogans against the Education Minister.
Parliamentary Affairs Minister Kiren Rijiju, while addressing the opposition in the House, said that the government is fully ready to discuss the NEET paper leak issue. He said that the opposition should discuss as they want. One day, two days, take as much time as you need. We request them with folded hands to discuss. But do not complicate the demand for discussion by adding unnecessary conditions.
Rijiju said that Prime Minister Narendra Modi has also made it clear that the culprits will not be spared. The Prime Minister has ordered to set up a fast track court to punish the culprits in the NEET paper leak case. Any kind of playing with the students of the country will not be tolerated. It is necessary to have a discussion so that the future of our youth is secure.
He appealed to the opposition to participate in the discussion instead of disrupting the proceedings of the House. Rijiju said that the government is committed to listening to and resolving every concern of the students.
Presiding Officer Dilip Saikia appealed to the opposition members to sit quietly in their places and participate in the discussion. He said that not allowing the House to function again and again is not appropriate and is not in accordance with the dignity of Parliament. But the opposition members remained adamant on sloganeering, due to which the proceedings were again adjourned till 2 pm.
Similarly, as soon as the proceedings started in the Rajya Sabha, the opposition MPs created a ruckus. Leader of Opposition Mallikarjun Kharge told Chairman CP Radhakrishnan that the government should accept the resignation of the Education Minister. He said that there has been lathicharge on students, many people are admitted in hospitals and parents are worried. Unless the Education Minister resigns, discussion will not be allowed.
On this, BJP President JP Nadda said that the attitude of the opposition is irresponsible. He said that the government is ready to discuss every topic including NEET but the opposition is avoiding the discussion. Due to the uproar, the proceedings of the Rajya Sabha were adjourned till 2 pm.
