IND vs ZIM 1st T20I: 15 year old Vaibhav Suryavanshi’s stormy half-century, India beats Zimbabwe by 7 wickets

Harare. After brilliant bowling by fast bowlers Mayank Yadav and Prince Yadav, thanks to an explosive half-century by 15-year-old opener Vaibhav Suryavanshi, India defeated Zimbabwe by seven wickets in the first T20 International and took a 1-0 lead in the three-match series.

Chasing the target of 126 runs, India achieved the target by losing three wickets in 13.2 overs. Vaibhav Suryavanshi played a stormy inning of 50 runs in 19 balls, which included four fours and four sixes. Ishan Kishan scored 35 runs and captain Shreyas Iyer scored 28 not out to give the team an easy victory.

15 year old Vaibhav made a record

Suryavanshi completed his maiden international half-century in just 18 balls and became the youngest batsman to score a half-century in men’s international cricket. His explosive batting turned the match towards India in the initial overs itself.

Amazing fast bowling of Mayank and Prince

Earlier, captain Shreyas Iyer won the toss and invited Zimbabwe to bat. India’s bowlers performed brilliantly and restricted the host team to 125 runs for seven wickets in 20 overs. Mayank Yadav and Prince Yadav took two wickets each, while Ravi Bishnoi and Shivam Dubey got one wicket each.

Madhevere and Marumani gave respectable lead

Zimbabwe had a very bad start and the team lost five wickets for 64 runs. After this, Wesley Madhevere (39) and Tadivanashe Marumani (27 not out) added 58 runs for the sixth wicket and took the team to 125 runs.

Great comeback after two years

Mayank Yadav, who returned to international cricket after almost two years, made a great start by taking a wicket on the very first ball. After being out for a long time due to a stress fracture, he took two wickets in his comeback match bowling at a speed of more than 145 kmph.
