In the wake of the ongoing agitation over the NEET paper leak issue in Delhi, the political atmosphere has once again heated up in the capital due to the actions of Leader of Opposition in Lok Sabha Rahul Gandhi and India Aghadi MPs. After the meeting at Rahul Gandhi’s residence, there was chaos outside Gandhi’s residence for some time before Gandhi left for Smriti Bhavan.

A meeting of India Aghadi MPs was held at Rahul Gandhi’s residence to register support for the student agitation in Delhi and protest against the NEET paper-split case. The initial thought was to go to Rajghat after the meeting. But as permission was not received for that, it was decided to go to Gandhi Smriti Bhavan to express condolences to the students.

Enhanced security outside the residence

After Rahul Gandhi and other MPs boarded the bus to go to Gandhi Smriti Bhavan, a white bus was stopped on their way a short distance away. Apart from this, a large number of Rapid Action Force (RAF) and paramilitary personnel were deployed in the area. Police had also tightened security by barricading outside Rahul Gandhi’s residence.

For some time there was confusion as to whether Rahul Gandhi and India Aghadi MPs would be allowed to enter the Gandhi Smriti Bhavan due to the security arrangements.
