India vs Sri Lanka XI Warm-up Match: Pant and Suthar made a childish mistake on one ball, KL Rahul somehow saved it.

In the warm-up match against Sri Lanka XI, Rishabh Pant and Manav Suthar performed something rarely seen even in street cricket. Both players made a mistake that could have cost India a wicket, but thanks to KL Rahul, who was at the right place at the right time, he saved them from this blunder. This incident involved a run-out. In fact, Sri Lanka XI’s first wicket fell in the form of Nishan Madushka, who was run out. Pant and Suthar made a foolish mistake in effecting this run-out.

What mistake did Rishabh Pant and Manav Suthar make?

On the fourth ball of the 20th over of the Indian innings during the warm-up match, Nishan Madushka tried to steal a run from Yashasvi Jaiswal. However, Ravindu Rasantha kept watching the ball and failed to run. This resulted in Madushka reaching the running end. Yashasvi Jaiswal threw the ball to Manav Suthar, who threw it towards wicketkeeper Rishabh Pant at the batting end. However, his throw went over Pant. After this mistimed throw, Pant dislodged the bails with his gloves without even touching the ball. It was KL Rahul who used his brain and easily uprooted the stumps. When the bails fall, the ball must be hit against the stumps to dislodge them.

Indian Bowlers Thrashed

The Indian bowlers bowled very poorly in the ongoing warm-up match in Colombo. Sri Lankan opener Nishan Madushka played a brilliant innings of 66 runs. He and Ravindu Rasantha added 110 runs for the first wicket in 124 balls. After Madushka’s dismissal, Ravindu also completed a brilliant half-century. However, after Madushka, Ravindu had already shared a half-century partnership with Pasindu Suryabandara. At the time of writing this report, Sri Lanka had scored 170 runs.

The Indian bowlers, especially Prasidh Krishma, Ravindra Jadeja, and Gurnur Brar, bowled aimlessly and leaked runs. Kuldeep Yadav also failed to make much of an impact.
