Protesting students ready for talks with government, CJP delegation will meet ministers today

New Delhi, 23 July. Amidst the ongoing agitation under the banner of Cockroach Janata Party (CJP) at Jantar Mantar in the national capital for the last several days, the continuous efforts made by the Central Government for talks have shown little effect, when a delegation of protesting students has agreed to meet the representatives of the government. Based on the information received from sources in this regard, news agency PTI said late on Thursday night that this meeting between the two sides can be held at 12.30 pm on Friday.

Sources said that this meeting is being held after intensive talks behind the scenes to end the deadlock in the NEET paper leak case. However, no information has been revealed about where this meeting will be held, nor is it known which ministers from the government will attend the meeting.

Union Minister Jitendra Singh had invited for talks

Earlier on Thursday afternoon, Union Minister Jitendra Singh, on behalf of the government, had politely invited the CJP representatives for discussion and said that the government is ready for talks with them. Singh had told that on behalf of the government, Health Minister JP Nadda and he himself would hold talks. After this, it is expected that both these leaders can attend the meeting to be held on Friday also.

It is noteworthy that for more than a month, students have been protesting at Jantar Mantar under the leadership of CJP demanding the resignation of Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan in the NEET paper leak case. This movement started on June 20, in which accountability is being fixed for alleged irregularities in competitive examinations, along with reform in the education system, resignation of Education Minister Pradhan is being demanded.

Meanwhile, amid the growing anger over the NEET paper leak across the country, the first major step has been taken by Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Thursday on the announcement of setting up a fast track court to provide justice to the students. Delhi High Court has appointed Judge Anu Grover Baliga as special judge in the fast track court to hear this case. With this appointment, the process has moved forward towards early hearing of such cases.

As reported by Bar & Bench, the notification issued by the Delhi High Court states that Judge Anu Grover Baliga will now preside over that special fast track court. Criminal cases related to paper leaks and rigging in public examinations will be heard here. The objective of this court is to expeditiously dispose of such cases and ensure prompt legal action against the culprits.
