The company has also introduced Syros EV with Battery-as-a-Service (BaaS) scheme. Its starting price under this scheme is ₹ 7.99 lakh, while an additional charge of ₹ 3.30 per kilometer will have to be paid for battery usage. Its delivery will start from July 30. In the Indian market, it will compete with Tata Nexon EV and Mahindra XUV 3XO EV.
Option of five variants and two battery packs
Kia Syros EV has been launched in five variants including HTK, HTK+, HTX, HTX+ and X-Line. It has two battery packs of 42kWh and 51.4kWh. The model with a 42kWh battery offers a range of 443Km, while the 51.4kWh battery pack offers an ARAI-certified range of 526Km.
The model with the larger battery pack generates 171hp of power and 255Nm of torque and can accelerate from 0 to 100Km/h in just 8.1 seconds. At the same time, the version with smaller battery pack gives 135hp power and 255Nm torque.
Charging and Warranty
Syros EV comes with the option of 7.4kW and 10.8kW AC charger. With the help of 100kW DC fast charger, the big battery can be charged from 10% to 80% in just 39 minutes. The company is also offering Lifetime Battery Warranty and Assured Buyback Program with this electric SUV, under which up to 80% resale value is claimed after 3 years.
Features and safety
In terms of design, Syros EV is quite similar to its ICE model, but it has a charging port on the front fender. The cabin gets premium features like 12.3-inch digital instrument cluster, 12.3-inch touchscreen, wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, Harman Kardon sound system, panoramic sunroof, 64-color ambient lighting and ventilated seats.
For safety, it has been provided with 6 airbags, 360-degree camera, ESC, hill-start assist, electronic parking brake and level-2 ADAS, which includes advanced safety features like Adaptive Cruise Control, Automatic Emergency Braking, Lane Keep Assist and Blind Spot Monitoring.
