Rishabh Pant became Uttarakhand’s highest individual income tax payer

Indian cricket team wicketkeeper-batsman Rishabh Pant has become Uttarakhand’s highest individual income tax payer, paying Rs 238.4 million in income tax for the 2025-26 financial year.
In a program organized on the occasion of Income Tax Day, Chief Income Tax Commissioner of Uttarakhand gave this information about Rishabh Pant’s tax payment. The department shared information about the contribution of major and regular taxpayers of the state.

Rishabh Pant tops the list of individual taxpayers

According to Income Tax Department data, Rishabh Pant was the highest taxpayer among individual taxpayers in Uttarakhand. He paid a total income tax of 23.84 crores. Pant is a resident of Roorkee in Haridwar district of Uttarakhand. Cricket, IPL contracts and various business deals are his main sources of income.

Taxes more than doubled from last year

According to the report, Rishabh Pant has paid more than double the tax in this financial year as compared to the previous financial year. Earlier, he topped the list of individual taxpayers in the state by depositing about Rs 10.50 crore in advance income tax. This time, with a tax payment of Rs 23.84 crore, he has once again become the largest individual taxpayer in Uttarakhand.

Income Tax Day is celebrated on 24th July every year. On this occasion, the Income Tax Department shared the data of contribution of taxpayers of Uttarakhand. The department termed timely and honest tax payers as important partners in the development of the country.
