SIR 2026: The Maharashtra government has given a big relief to the teachers and revenue officers across the state. The government has taken a significant decision to significantly increase the annual remuneration of government employees working in the ‘Special Brief Revision’ (SIR 2026) campaign of voter lists. This will provide a huge financial boost to these employees, who are doing the very responsible work of voter registration in addition to their regular office and educational work. The main objective of this decision is to boost the morale of the field officers who are working day and night to increase the accuracy and transparency of the election process.

Details of the increase in honorarium

The state government has made a major revision in the annual remuneration of the Chief Electoral Officers who are directly involved in the work of electoral roll by giving administrative approval. According to this new decision, the regular Electoral Registration Officers (EROs), who control the entire process in the constituency, will now be paid an annual remuneration of Rs 30,000. Along with this, the remuneration of the regular Assistant Electoral Registration Officers (AEROs), who implement and supervise the actual work at the field level, has also been increased and they will now be allowed an annual remuneration of Rs 25,000.
