Fierce explosion at firecracker factory in Saharanpur, 2 dead, many feared trapped in debris

Saharanpur : A huge explosion took place in a firecracker factory in Kunda Basi village under Gangoh police station area of ​​Saharanpur district today on Friday evening. The explosion was so powerful that it could be heard several kilometers away. Two people have died in the accident, while many people are feared to be trapped under the debris. Teams of police, fire brigade and administration immediately rushed to the spot and rescue operations were started.

A fire broke out in the factory after the explosion

According to eyewitnesses, the factory suddenly experienced a powerful explosion, followed by a fire. The explosion completely destroyed a part of the factory. Several workers were working inside at the time of the accident. The explosion was so powerful that the bodies of some workers were thrown away. A body was reportedly found about 400 meters away. The accident spread panic in the entire area.

Nearby houses shook

According to locals, the intensity of the explosion was so great that the nearby houses and huts also shook. Immediately after the blast, villagers themselves started relief work and helped evacuate the injured. Then the police and fire brigade teams overcame it.

Search continues for people buried in debris

The administration has confirmed two deaths. However, it is feared that many people may still be trapped in the rubble of the factory. Keeping this in mind, relief and rescue operations are underway. A large number of police forces have been deployed at the scene. The entire area has been cordoned off.

SSP and DM reached the spot

On getting information about the accident, Saharanpur SSP Abhinandan and DM Arvind Chauhan rushed to the spot. Both the officials are monitoring the relief work. Necessary instructions have been issued to concerned departments. According to the police, the investigation into the cause of the explosion has been started. They are also checking whether the firecracker factory had a valid license and whether safety norms were being followed. The administration has said that further action will be taken based on the inquiry report.
