Opposition adamant on demand of Dharmendra Pradhan’s resignation, CJP’s protest continues at Jantar Mantar, Parliament adjourned till 2 pm

Tezzbuzz Desk- Protests by opposition parties and the Cockroach Janata Party (CJP) continue demanding the resignation of Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan. On Friday, MPs from several opposition parties, including Congress, raised slogans against the government in the Parliament complex and reiterated their demand for the resignation of the Education Minister. At the same time, CJP’s protest continued at Jantar Mantar in Delhi. Founder of the organization Abhijeet Dipke said that their agitation will continue until Dharmendra Pradhan resigns.

Abhijeet Dipke said that Sonam Wangchuk has ended her long hunger strike, which has given him relief. He said that fasting for more than 26 days was extremely difficult and Sonam Wangchuk’s life is important for the country. He also told that the meeting with the Union Ministers will be held at a neutral place, but no solution less than the resignation of Dharmendra Pradhan will be accepted. On the other hand, Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge, Congress General Secretary Priyanka Gandhi and many other opposition leaders demonstrated in the Parliament complex. During this, the leaders raised slogans in support of the students and demanded accountability from the government. MPs from many opposition parties including Trinamool Congress also participated in the demonstration.

CPI(M) MP John Brittas said the opposition’s demand is clear and it is demanding the resignation of Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan. He alleged that the government talks about accountability, but responsibility is being given to people against whom serious allegations have been made. Samajwadi Party chief Akhilesh Yadav also targeted the government and said that when action is not taken on the root of the problem, then only superficial steps will not yield a solution. He said that there is only one reason for many problems of the country and the government should pay attention to it.

Parliament proceedings were affected on Friday due to the uproar by the opposition. The Lok Sabha meeting was adjourned till 12 noon just minutes after it began. A similar atmosphere was seen in Rajya Sabha also. At the commencement of the proceedings, Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla mentioned Kargil Vijay Diwas and paid tribute to the soldiers martyred in the Kargil war. After this, the opposition MPs started raising slogans against the government on many issues including the NEET paper leak case and police action against students.

The Speaker of the Lok Sabha appealed to the opposition members to allow the Question Hour to continue and said that the Question Hour is an important medium to seek answers from the government. He assured that after the Question Hour, members will be given an opportunity to express their views on other issues. However, as the uproar continued, the House proceedings had to be adjourned. The political atmosphere regarding this entire matter remains heated. While the opposition is adamant on demanding the resignation of the Education Minister, further response from the government on this issue is awaited.
