Big statement of TV’s Sita on new Ramayana, raised questions on Sai Pallavi’s casting, also praised Yash

New Delhi . There is tremendous excitement among the audience about Nitesh Tiwari’s much awaited film Ramayana. Meanwhile, actress Deepika Chikhlia, who played the immortal character of Mata Sita in Ramanand Sagar’s popular TV series, has expressed her frank opinion about the new film and its star cast. He praised the talent of actors like Sai Pallavi Ranbir Kapoor and Yash but also said that the decades-old memories of Ramayana are still fresh in the hearts of people and it will not be easy to forget them.

During a conversation, Deepika Chikhalia said that she has seen Sai Pallavi’s acting and she is a very talented actress. However, according to her, it is too early to say how effective she will look in the role of Mata Sita. He said that this decision can be taken only after watching the film. Referring to the form of Mother Sita in religious texts, Deepika said that a detailed description of her personality is found in Tulsidas’s Ramayana and Ramanand Sagar had selected the artists on the same basis. He also said that he did not remember any mention of Sita’s curly hair anywhere.

Deepika also admitted that if the actors act with complete sincerity as per their character then the audience accepts them. Describing the entire team of the new film as talented, he expressed hope that the audience will definitely like this film. However, he also said that the emotional impact of Ramayana of his generation is still deeply present in the minds of people and it is natural to compare the new film with it.

He said that when Ramanand Sagar’s Ramayana was telecast again during the Corona period, the new generation also watched it with great enthusiasm. This is the reason why the old Ramayana is still alive in people’s memories. According to him, the biggest challenge before any new presentation will be to stay true to the same memories and emotions of the audience.

Deepika Chikhalia also shared her career experiences. She told that the character of Sita gave her immense popularity but this identity also became a challenge for her. After Ramayana, she almost stopped getting different types of characters because the audience always wanted to see her as Sita. He said that even today many people recognize her less by her real name and more by the name of Sita. For this reason, later he had to move towards production also.

Deepika gave a positive reaction to actor Yash playing the role of Ravana. He said that he has seen Yash’s work and is confident that he will look strong as Ravana. But he reiterated that the image of the old Ramayana is so strong in the minds of the audience that it will not be easy for any new presentation to escape its comparison.

Deepika congratulated director Nitish Tiwari and the entire team and said that all the actors associated with the film are very capable. He expressed hope that this film will attract the audience and people will definitely go to see it on the big screen. He also said that the biggest strength of Ramanand Sagar’s Ramayana was its precise casting and Ravindra Jain’s timeless music which made it immortal.

Ramayana, being made under the direction of Nitesh Tiwari, will be released in two parts. In the film, Ranbir Kapoor is playing the role of Lord Ram Sai Pallavi Mata Sita and Yash Ravana. Apart from this, Sunny Deol, Ravi Dubey, Arun Govil, Lara Dutta, Rakul, Preet Singh, Kunal Kapoor, Sheeba Chaddha and Adinath Kothare will also be seen in important roles. The music of the film is composed by Hans Zimmer and AR Rahman. The first part will be released in theaters in Diwali 2026 and the second part in Diwali 2027.
