Attack on jewelers shop on the highway, broke the locker and broke 8 kg of silver
Tilhar, Shahjahanpur. In Tilhar on Friday night, thieves challenged the police patrolling and targeted a jewelers shop located on the side of the highway. The miscreants entered inside the shop by raising its shutters, broke the locker and escaped with about eight kilos of silver, 20 grams of gold jewelery and cash worth Rs 98 thousand. As soon as information about the incident was received on Saturday morning, there was a sensation in the area. Police officials reached the spot and started investigation.
Krishna Verma, a resident of Mohalla Matani Chowk of Kotwali area, told that he has a shop in the name of Sanwariya Seth Jewelers on the side of the highway in front of State Bank in Kapseda. On Friday night, as usual, he closed the shop and went home. On Saturday morning, local people called and informed about theft in the shop. On reaching the spot, the lock of the shutter was found broken and marks of entry inside were found by lifting the shutter.
According to the victim, the thieves also broke the locker kept inside the shop. About eight kilos of silver, 20 grams of gold jewelery and cash worth Rs 98 thousand kept in it were found missing. The businessman has suffered a loss of lakhs of rupees due to theft. After this major incident that took place in a shop located on the main highway, there is both anger and panic among the traders. Local people say that even the establishments located on busy roads are not safe, due to which questions are being raised on the security arrangements at night.
As soon as the information was received, CO Vidush Saxena reached the spot with the police team. The field unit collected evidence from the spot, while footage from nearby CCTV cameras is being scrutinized. Police have activated joint teams of surveillance, SOG and field units and started searching for the accused. CO Vidush Saxena said that the incident is being seriously investigated. Efforts are being made to identify the miscreants on the basis of CCTV footage and other technical evidence. Soon the incident will be revealed and the accused will be arrested.
