Technology Desk: Redmi has launched a new smartphone in its Note series, the Redmi Note 17 5G, in India. This is the first phone in the Note 17 series in India. The company introduced it in China a few weeks ago. Now it has been launched in the Indian market.
The Redmi Note 17 5G features a large 8,000mAh battery, a 120Hz AMOLED display, and a Snapdragon 4 Gen 4 processor. The phone runs on HyperOS 3 based on Android 16. The company claims that the phone can last up to 2.5 days on a single charge.

The sale of the phone will start from August 12, 2026. It can be purchased from Amazon and the official website of Xiaomi India.
The smartphone is offered in Arctic Blue, Dark Night, and Starlight Purple colors. The company is also offering an instant discount of Rs 3,000 on purchases made using SBI, Axis Bank, and Kotak Bank credit cards.
6.9-inch AMOLED display
The Redmi Note 17 5G features a 6.9-inch Full HD+ TrueColor AMOLED display. The screen offers a 120Hz refresh rate, making scrolling and animations appear smoother.
The display has a peak brightness of up to 1,800 nits. Gorilla Glass 7i protects the screen. The phone also features HydroTouch 2.0, which makes it easy to use the screen even with wet hands.
Snapdragon 4 Gen 4 processor
The phone is powered by a 4nm Snapdragon 4 Gen 4 processor, paired with up to 8GB of LPDDR4X RAM. It supports up to 256GB of UFS 2.2 storage.
Storage can be expanded up to 2TB via a microSD card. On the software front, the phone runs HyperOS 3 based on Android 16.
The company is promising four years of Android updates for the phone, and six years of security updates.
50MP camera setup
For photography, the phone features a 50MP primary rear camera with support for 2x digital zoom. It also has a secondary camera.
The phone has an 8MP front camera for selfies and video calling.

The Redmi Note 17 5G’s biggest highlight is its 8,000mAh battery, which the company claims can last up to 2.5 days on a single charge.
The phone supports 45W fast charging and 22.5W reverse charging, allowing you to use the phone as a power bank to charge other devices.
