New Delhi: A menstrual cycle can provide useful clues about a woman’s overall health, and changes in the timing or amount of bleeding may sometimes signal an underlying issue. While an occasional delay is generally not a cause for concern, persistent menstrual irregularities may require medical evaluation.
One possible factor associated with changes in menstrual patterns is iron deficiency. Speaking to NDTV, Dr Anita Gupta, Additional Director, Obstetrics & Gynaecology, Fortis La Femme, explained that iron is an essential mineral involved in several important functions in the body and inadequate iron levels may affect reproductive health.
