‘Rapido driver left her on the middle of the road in the rain’, woman’s claim goes viral, company assures investigation

Women Safety: A video of Dehradun-based content creator Janvi Chaudhary is becoming increasingly viral on social media. In the video, he alleged that a Rapido driver left him and one of his friends on the road amid heavy rain after a dispute over the route.

According to Janvi, this incident happened at around 8:30 pm. In the video shared on Instagram, he said that the driver wanted to take another route behind the hills instead of the route shown in the app.

When they protested, the driver allegedly used abusive language and left the ride midway. In the video, Janvi is seen standing on the roadside amidst the rain and narrating the entire incident. He said that being left on the road at night in such conditions was a very scary and disturbing experience.

Janvi claimed that after the driver left, she did not get another vehicle for a long time, due to which she was delayed by about one and a half hour in reaching home and she reached home around 10 pm. While sharing the video, he called it the ‘worst travel experience’ of his life. told. After the incident went viral, a large number of social media users reacted to it.

Many people said that leaving a passenger midway at night and in bad weather is a very serious matter from the point of view of women’s safety. Some users also shared such incidents that happened to them and demanded ride-hailing services to strengthen security arrangements.

After the video went viral, the company assured investigation

Amidst the growing discussion over the video, Rapido also responded in the comments section. The company wrote that this incident is completely unacceptable and the safety and respect of customers is their top priority. The company contacted Janvi and assured to investigate the matter on priority basis.

However, till the time of writing the news, there was no official information about the results of the investigation or any action taken against the concerned driver. At present, this matter has become a topic of discussion on social media and people are sharing their opinions regarding the safe travel of women.
