ICC T20 Rankings: After victory over Zimbabwe, India again became number-1, overtook England; Ishan Kishan top batsman

Dubai. The Indian cricket team has once again secured the top position in the International Cricket Council (ICC) men’s T20 International team rankings. India overtook England in the rankings after registering two consecutive wins over Zimbabwe in the three-match T20 series being played in Harare.

Current T20 world champion India had defeated Zimbabwe by seven wickets in the first match. After this, they registered a big win of 90 runs in the second T20 and took an unassailable 2-0 lead in the series. These consecutive wins had a direct impact on the ICC rankings and the Indian team again reached number-1.

Earlier, India had to face 0-4 defeat in the five-match T20 series against England. The team also lost 0-2 against Ireland. However, India again established its dominance by making a spectacular comeback on the Zimbabwe tour.

Ishan Kishan becomes number-1 T20 batsman

In the latest ICC batting rankings, Indian opener Ishan Kishan remains at the first position with 892 rating points. Abhishek Sharma, who scored a half-century in the second T20, is in second place with 858 points.

Whereas Tilak Verma, who played a half-century innings in the second match, remains at eighth position with 733 rating points.

Varun Chakraborty in top-10 in bowling

Varun Chakraborty is the only Indian in the top-10 in the T20 rankings for bowlers. Despite not being a part of the current series against Zimbabwe, he remains at fifth position with 683 rating points.
