Stock market sees major reversal, market cap of 4 of the top 10 companies rises by ₹1.43 lakh crore; see full list

Top-10 Companies Market Capitalization: The market cap of four of the country’s top 10 companies increased by ₹1.43 lakh crore. State Bank of India (SBI) saw the biggest gain, driven by the largest public sector bank’s strong results for the first quarter of FY27. However, the market cap of the remaining six companies in the top 10 declined by ₹1.23 lakh crore.

SBI’s market cap increased by ₹63,922.03 crore to ₹10,11,721.84 crore last week among the top 10 companies with the highest market cap. This significant increase has pushed SBI further up the rankings among India’s most valuable companies.

RIL’s market cap increased by ₹32,816.4 crore

Reliance Industries’ market valuation increased by ₹32,816.4 crore, taking its market cap to ₹18,01,925.19 crore. Tata Consultancy Services (TCS)’s valuation increased by ₹31,875.35 crore to ₹8,87,770.13 crore. Larsen & Toubro’s (L&T) market capitalization also increased by ₹14,637.76 crore to ₹5,56,482.45 crore.

LIC incurs loss of Rs 40,543 crore

On the other hand, Life Insurance Corporation of India (LIC) saw the biggest decline. Its market valuation fell by Rs 40,543.23 crore to Rs 4,96,891.82 crore. Bajaj Finance’s market capitalization fell by Rs 37,168.96 crore to Rs 6,73,648.55 crore, while HDFC Bank’s valuation fell by Rs 24,183.16 crore to Rs 11,27,967.47 crore.

ICICI Bank’s market capitalization declined by Rs 9,507.67 crore to Rs 10,20,370.63 crore, while Bharti Airtel’s valuation declined by Rs 7,581.65 crore to Rs 12,22,423.98 crore. Hindustan Unilever was also among the laggards. Its market capitalization declined by Rs 4,793.16 crore to Rs 4,88,808.97 crore. On the other hand, the Indian stock market closed with a slight rise, with the Sensex rising by 404.53 points or 0.51 percent, while the Nifty gained 187.05 points or 0.76 percent.

How was the stock market last week?

The past week was quite good for the Indian stock market  . Nifty closed at 24,570.65 with a gain of 187.05 points or 0.77 percent and Sensex closed at 78,499.17 with a gain of 404.53 points or 0.52 percent. Midcap and smallcap also performed well during this period. Nifty Midcap 100 index was at 63,463.55 with a gain of 548.25 points or 0.87 percent and Nifty Smallcap 100 index was at 19,867.80 with a gain of 528.15 points or 2.73 percent.

Nifty PSU Bank rose

Among the indices, Nifty PSU Bank was the biggest gainer, rising 5.01 percent. Nifty India Defence gained 4.30 percent, Nifty Metal 3.70 percent, Nifty Auto 3.14 percent, Nifty IT 2.73 percent, Nifty India Manufacturing 2.04 percent, Nifty Commodities 1.32 percent, Nifty Infra 1.01 percent and Nifty FMCG 0.64 percent.

On the other hand, Nifty Media   closed with a decline of 3.94 percent, Nifty Realty 1.72 percent, Nifty Financial Services 0.48 percent, Nifty Private Bank 0.47 percent and Nifty Healthcare 0.28 percent.
