Big turnaround in market cap, SBI and Reliance benefited

New Delhi: Due to buying and selling in the domestic stock market during the last trading week, the market cap of six companies among the top 10 most valued companies of the country declined, while the market cap of four companies increased.

The market cap of four of these ten companies, which are at the top in terms of market cap in the country, increased by more than Rs 1.43 lakh crore after trading from Monday to Friday.

Among these, State Bank of India (SBI) benefited the most, while Reliance Industries secured the second position in terms of increase in market cap.

On the other hand, the market cap of six companies among the top 10 most valued companies declined by more than Rs 1.23 crore during last week’s trading.

Among these, Life Insurance Corporation of India (LIC) suffered the biggest loss, while Bajaj Finance stood second in terms of facing decline in market cap.

The market cap of State Bank of India (SBI), Reliance Industries, Tata Consultancy Services (TCS) and Larsen & Toubro increased by Rs 1,43,251.54 crore after trading from Monday to Friday.

On the other hand, the market cap of Life Insurance Corporation of India (LIC), Bajaj Finance, HDFC Bank, ICICI Bank, Bharti Airtel and Hindustan Unilever declined by Rs 1,23,777.83 crore.

The market cap of State Bank of India (SBI) increased by Rs 63,922.03 crore to Rs 10,11,721.84 crore after last week’s trading.

Similarly, the market cap of Reliance Industries, the company with the highest market cap in the country, reached Rs 18,01,925.19 crore with a gain of Rs 32,816.40 crore.

Apart from this, the market cap of Tata Consultancy Services (TCS) increased by Rs 31,875.35 crore to Rs 8,87,770.13 crore and the market cap of Larsen & Toubro (L&T) increased by Rs 14,637.76 crore to Rs 5,56,482.45 crore.

On the other hand, the market cap of Life Insurance Corporation of India (LIC) fell by ₹40,543.23 crore to ₹496,891.82 crore in trading between Monday and Friday last week. Similarly, Bajaj Finance’s market cap fell by ₹37,168.96 crore to ₹673,648.55 crore.

Apart from this, the market cap of HDFC Bank declined by Rs 24,183.16 crore to Rs 11,27,967.47 crore, while the market cap of ICICI Bank declined by Rs 9,507.67 crore to Rs 10,20,370.63 crore.

Bharti Airtel’s market cap declined by Rs 7,581.65 crore to Rs 12,22,423.98 crore and Hindustan Unilever’s market cap declined by Rs 4,793.16 crore to Rs 4,88,808.97 crore.

In terms of market cap, Reliance Industries remained the country’s largest market cap company with a market capitalization of Rs 18,01,925.19 crore.

This is followed by Bharti Airtel (total market cap Rs 12,22,423.98 crore), HDFC Bank (total market cap Rs 11,27,967.47 crore), ICICI Bank (total market cap Rs 10,20,370.63 crore), State Bank of India (total market cap Rs 10,11,721.84 crore).

Tata Consultancy Services (TCS) (total market cap Rs 8,87,770.13 crore), Bajaj Finance (total market cap Rs 6,73,648.55 crore), Larsen & Toubro (total market cap Rs 5,56,482.45 crore).

Life Insurance Corporation of India (LIC) (total market cap Rs 4,96,891.82 crore) and Hindustan Unilever (total market cap Rs 4,88,808.97 crore) remained at the second to tenth positions in the list of top 10 most valuable companies.
