Bihar News: The Bihar government has taken several important decisions to improve the state’s education system, align it with the needs of students. Chief Minister Samrat Choudhary inaugurated a two-day state-level workshop-cum-reflection camp organized by the Education Department at the Convention Hall in Patna. During the meeting, he made several major announcements regarding education, examination system, student welfare, and the use of technology.
Preparing to Make Every School Excellent
The Chief Minister said that a state-level committee has been formed to ensure quality education reaches every school in the state. Its objective is to make each school a center of excellence and continuously improve children’s learning levels. The government will also prepare necessary suggestions and action plans to improve the condition and quality of the education system.
A State-Level Examination Reform Committee has also been formed to ensure transparent, fair, and modern examinations in Bihar. This committee will provide recommendations on the use of technology and AI in board and competitive examinations, as well as in classroom-based assessments. Its objective is to better assess children’s knowledge, understanding, and analytical abilities.
The government will communicate directly with students.
The Chief Minister stated that the government wants to hear students’ problems and suggestions directly. To this end, special support camps will be organized, where the Chief Minister, ministers, MPs, and MLAs will interact with students. Student suggestions will be uploaded to the portal, and monthly support camps will be organized at the Chief Minister’s level.
There has also been talk of creating separate directorates within the relevant departments to better coordinate student welfare work. This aims to effectively address student-related issues.
Goal to Build 1001 Model Schools
The Chief Minister stated that 551 model schools have been built in Bihar so far, and the government aims to build 1001 model schools. He stated that it is the government’s responsibility to provide quality education to children from economically disadvantaged families.
He noted that a large number of students from Bihar go to Kota and other states for studies and preparation for competitive exams. Approximately ₹18,000 crore is being disbursed under the Student Credit Card Scheme, a large portion of which is being spent in other states. The government now wants to develop a better educational system within Bihar, reducing the need for students to travel abroad.
Emphasis on Computers, English, and Languages
The Chief Minister stated that, in addition to providing computer and English education to children, work will also be done to develop Sanskrit, Urdu, and five Bihari languages. A system will be implemented from August 15th, allowing children to study online until 11 p.m.
Strict action will also be taken against crimes related to education. In such cases, action will be taken against those convicted under the Goonda Act and the Criminal Procedure Code (Code of Conduct). The Chief Minister stated that youth are the future of Bihar, and the government is fully concerned about their education and future.
Education Minister Mithilesh Tiwari, Chief Secretary Pratyay Amrit, Chief Minister’s Secretary Sanjay Kumar Singh, Chairman of the Bihar School Examination Board Dr. Tyagarajan S.M., District Magistrate Kundan Kumar, and several officials from the Education Department were present at the event. The Chief Minister also released the book and booklet “Vande Mataram.”
