Changes may be seen in LPG cylinder prices, Income Tax Returns (ITR), banking charges and GST rules from August 1. At the same time, the Monetary Policy Committee (MPC) meeting of the Reserve Bank of India (RBI) is also going to be held this month, due to which the loan EMIs and fixed deposit (FD) interest rates may be affected. In such a situation, it is important to know about these changes in advance for your monthly budget.
On the 1st of every month, Oil Marketing Companies (OMCs) review the prices of domestic and commercial LPG cylinders. This time too, there is a possibility of change in the prices of gas cylinders amid fluctuations in energy prices in the international market. If there is a cut in prices, domestic consumers and small businessmen will directly benefit from it.
RBI meeting will decide the future of EMI
The most important events in August include the Monetary Policy Committee (MPC) meeting of the RBI. This meeting will run from 3 to 5 August and the Governor will announce its decisions on 5 August. If there is a change in the repo rate, it can affect home loan EMIs, car and personal loans, interest rates on fixed deposits (FD). Therefore, crores of borrowers and investors are keeping an eye on this meeting.
The deadline for filing ITR for salaried taxpayers was July 31. Now after filing returns, late fees ranging from ₹ 1,000 to ₹ 5,000 may be imposed depending on the income. Whereas for small businessmen, freelancers and ITR-3 and ITR-4 category taxpayers, the last date for filing returns is August 31. If returns are filed after the due date, you may have to pay interest along with late fees.
There will be important changes in the stock market also
From August 1, market regulator SEBI is going to restart the process of share buyback through open market. Under this, companies will be able to buy back their shares up to the prescribed limit. Apart from this, there will be a quarterly review of MSCI Global Index on August 12, which may impact the Indian stock market and the strategy of foreign investors.
Some banks have announced the imposition of additional charges on their services from August. For example, some banks will charge separate fees for features like SMS alerts. In such a situation, customers should check the new service charge and debit card charges of their bank in advance.
GST rules will be more strict
From August 1, GST Network (GSTN) is going to make some rules related to e-way bill more stringent. Now ‘It will be mandatory to provide ‘Ship-to’ GSTIN in ‘Bill-to/Ship-to’ transactions. Additionally, once the Invoice Reference Number (IRN) is generated, no modification will be allowed.
These changes, which will be implemented in the beginning of August, can affect the common people, taxpayers, bank customers, investors and businessmen.
