Sow seeds: Buy basil seeds from the market and plant them in the soil. Sow the seeds in slightly moist soil, add a layer of light soil over it and water lightly regularly. The seeds will germinate and come out in a few days. This is the rainy season, so there is moisture in the soil anyway, so if you do not water too much, it will still work. Pinching is important: Pinching means pruning. When new leaves start emerging from the basil plant, pluck it lightly from above. This is called ‘pinching’. Pinching causes many new branches to sprout rapidly from the bottom. With this process, within a week to ten days many branches of Tulsi will grow and the leaves will also be green.
Remove ripe seeds: The basil plant has seeds and when they start ripening, pluck them and remove them. You put those seeds in the pot itself. By doing this your pot will be filled again with many basil leaves.
