Gyaneshwari, who was participating in the Commonwealth Games for the first time, won the silver medal in the women’s 53kg weightlifting event, lifting a total of 199kg in the snatch and clean and jerk rounds. In the final, the 23-year-old weightlifter lifted 82kg in her second snatch attempt. In the clean and jerk, she lifted 111kg in her final attempt, a personal best.
