RBI will print 100-100 crore plastic notes of Rs 10-20, Modi government approved, will old ones be banned?

Modi Government Approves Polymer Notes: The Reserve Bank of India (RBI) had sent a proposal to the Modi government at the Center to print plastic currency, which has been approved by the government. This means that polymer notes with value of Rs 10 and Rs 20 will soon be seen in the country. The government itself has given this information in the Parliament. According to which, a trial will be conducted on this. If successful then it will be regularized. The government has also clarified that the printing of these notes will not affect paper notes.

According to the Central Government, first this note will be printed as a trial with 100-100 crore notes of Rs 10 and Rs 20. If this trial is successful then printing of these notes will be continued. The government has approved this proposal of RBI. The government said that soon plastic notes will circulate in the market, but this does not mean that paper notes will stop.

Only 100-100 crore notes will be printed for trial

The government told Parliament that there is no proposal to completely switch over to plastic notes. Right now only trials are being conducted. Because the life of this note is much more than paper notes. Therefore, currently only 100-100 crore notes of Rs 10 and Rs 20 will be printed as a trial.

Plastic notes are printed in 50 countries

Let us tell you, plastic notes are used in more than 50 countries. Because it is claimed that it is considered more durable than paper and quite difficult to make fake notes. If media report sources are to be believed, tenders have also been issued for printing new notes.
