On the occasion of Uttar Pradesh Volleyball Day, players and people associated with the sports world were honored in the Dr. (Major) ND Sharma Sports Investiture Ceremony organized at KD Singh Babu Stadium. In the program, Deputy Chief Minister and President of UP Volleyball Association Brajesh Pathak unveiled the trophy and T-shirt of Kisan Volleyball Premier League. During this, he announced to provide volleyball and net in every village of the state. He said that to bring out the hidden sports talents in rural areas, it is necessary to provide sports facilities to every village.
Honoring under-16 champion players
In the ceremony, the players who won gold medals in the 46th National Sub Junior Boys Under-16 Volleyball Championship were honored. Apart from this, Varanasi Mayor Ashok Tiwari, Varanasi Volleyball Association President Dr. Abhimanyu Singh and Secretary Sarvesh Pandey were awarded the Dr. (Major) ND Sharma Sports Award for their special contribution in the field of sports and organizing the 72nd Senior National Volleyball Championship.
Volleyball and net will reach every village
Brajesh Pathak said that volleyball is a game directly related to rural background. Therefore, it is important to connect more and more rural players with it. He said that the Volleyball Association will provide volleyball and nets in every village of the state. It will start from those villages where the players have brought glory to the state at the national and international level.
Rural talents will emerge from Kisan Volleyball Premier League
The Deputy Chief Minister said that through the Kisan Volleyball Premier League, new sports talents from rural areas will get a platform to showcase their potential. Special guest and Sports Director Dr. RP Singh said that this league will prove to be a better opportunity for rural youth to showcase their talent.
Brainstorming also took place on sports infrastructure
In the annual general meeting organized during the program, the sports infrastructure, training system and talent promotion in the state were discussed. Dr. Anandeshwar Pandey, General Secretary of UP Olympic Association, Sushil Mishra, Convenor of UP BJP Law Cell, Treasurer of the Association Mohd. Ibrahim, Vice Presidents VN Mishra and DK Shahi, Joint Secretary Sanjay Singh and representatives from different districts of the state were present.
