Kolkata. West Bengal Chief Minister Subhendu Adhikari's helicopter had to make a precautionary landing in Kolaghat on Tuesday due to bad weather. According to officials, the weather in the area suddenly worsened, after which the helicopter made an emergency landing in view of safety. There is no immediate information about any injury or damage in the incident.
Chief Minister left for Keshavpur by road-
After the helicopter landed in Kolaghat, Chief Minister Subhendu Adhikari left for Keshavpur in West Medinipur district by road. Here he had to address a program organized on the death anniversary of revolutionary freedom fighter Khudiram Bose.
After the program, the Chief Minister is also scheduled to visit Bankura district, where he has to attend an administrative meeting. However, it is not yet clear whether he will travel to Bankura by road or if the weather is clear, the air route will be used.
Waterlogging on helipad due to heavy rains-
It was told that there was heavy rain in Keshavpur on Tuesday morning, due to which the temporary helipad built at the venue was waterlogged. For this reason, it was decided to land the helicopter at Kolaghat instead of taking it to Keshavpur.
There was a technical problem with the helicopter before the flight.
Earlier during the Chief Minister's visit, problems had also come to light at Kolkata's Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose International Airport. According to sources, some technical glitches were noticed in the Chief Minister's helicopter before it took off. However, the technical team fixed the problem immediately.
After this, the Chief Minister left in the same helicopter, but due to bad weather on the way, his air travel was affected and in view of security, the helicopter had to land at Kolaghat.
