Under the influence of active seasonal air in Madhya Pradesh, the Meteorological Department has issued an alert for heavy to very heavy rain in 11 districts on 10 August. Many areas like Bhopal, Raipur, Sihor, Indore, Ujjain and Ratlam may experience heavy rain with thunderstorms and wind speed of 30 to 40 kilometers per hour.
Due to active seasonal system, rainy conditions continue in various parts of Madhya Pradesh. The Meteorological Department said, on August 10, there is a possibility of heavy to very heavy rain in 11 districts of the state. The districts include भोपाल, रैसेन, राजगड़, शाजापुर, अगर, सिहोर, देबास, इन्दोर, उज्ञायनी, मंदसौर and Ratlam.
Along with rain, the effects of thunderstorms and gusty winds can also be seen in these districts. Warning level of Meteorological Department means that common people and administration have to be prepared to face possible weather-related impacts.
There is a possibility of rain continuing in the capital Bhopal on Monday. Due to incessant rains, there is a danger of water logging in low-lying areas of the city and disruption of traffic. Considering the weather conditions, it has been advised not to travel unless necessary.
Apart from Madhya Pradesh, seasonal wind is active in different parts of the country. According to IMD, between 9 to 15 August, many areas including Central India may see rain, thunderstorms and windy conditions.
Considering the situation of continuous rain, the Dindori district administration has declared a one-day holiday on August 10 in all the schools of the district for the safety of students and children. Holidays have been kept for children in the courtyard centers.
Depending on the local situation in areas affected by heavy rainfall, additional decisions may have to be taken by the administration regarding schools and other institutions.
Due to heavy rains in Shyampur Tehsil area of Sihore district, a situation of water logging has arisen at various places. After incessant rains, the water level of local rivers and streams rose and traffic on some rural roads was disrupted.
People are facing problems due to water entering shops and houses in many low lying areas. Due to high water levels, traveling along rivers, streams, bridges and culverts can be dangerous.
Apart from the heavy rain-hit districts, there is a possibility of light to moderate rain in various parts of Madhya Pradesh. Yellow warning has been issued for rain in many areas including शिबपुरी, निबाड़ी, गुना, अशोकनगर, बिदिशा, नीमच, झाबुया, अलिराजपुर, बुड़ोयानी, Dhar, नर्म्दापुरम, नरसिंहपुर, खंड़ोवा, Khargone, Burhanpur, हर्दा, बेटुल, छिंदवाडा, पाँधुर्णा, सिओनी and Sagar.
According to the Meteorological Department, during heavy rains, there may be a risk of water accumulation in low-lying areas, increase in water level in rivers and streams and damage to weak structures. There is a possibility of lightning during thunderstorms.
It has been advised to stay away from rivers, streams and submerged areas, avoid thunderstorms in open areas and avoid unfriendly travel in bad weather. It is advised to take special precautions while driving in low visibility and slippery roads.
