Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP) national president and former Chief Minister of Uttar Pradesh Mayawati has once again put the central and state governments in the dock over the issue of increasing unemployment in the country. Mayawati, while sharing a long and aggressive post on the social media platform 'X', has demanded from the governments that strict steps should be taken immediately to solve the problems of unemployed youth. Remembered the work of his government
Referring to her rule, Mayawati claimed that when her party was in power in Uttar Pradesh, about 2.25 lakh new posts were created in various government sectors including police and Panchayati Raj departments. He said that during that time the old restrictions on the recruitment process were completely removed and lakhs of qualified people from every section of the society were given full opportunity to move ahead in government jobs.
Governments cornered on inflation, unemployment and migration
Launching a scathing attack, the BSP supremo said that despite not being in power, their party has been continuously raising serious issues related to the people in states like Uttar Pradesh, Uttarakhand and Punjab. He raised questions on the working style of the governments on issues like inflation, poverty, unemployment, illiteracy, poor health services, backwardness, forced migration, women's safety, paper leaks and corruption. Mayawati alleged that most of today's governments remain completely indifferent and careless towards these serious problems, which is extremely worrying for the political and social situation of the country.
Mention of youth movement and demand to fill vacant posts
In her post, Mayawati also specifically mentioned the youth movements going on at Jantar Mantar, where educated youth are continuously raising their voice regarding unemployment and their future. He said that the educated youth of the country, through their movement, have made unemployment the biggest issue of national discussion today. He appealed to the governments not to ignore the concerns of the poor, labourers, women and the unemployed. Mayawati demanded that lakhs of vacant posts in all government departments should be filled within a stipulated time frame and with complete transparency, and a corruption-free system should be created to get rid of problems like paper leaks.
Strong criticism on reservation, privatization and Parliament deadlock
While giving advice to the governments on the issues of reservation and employment, Mayawati said that if even just one member of a poor family gets a government job, then the life of that entire family improves. He expressed concern that due to the weak reservation system, people of SC, ST and OBC categories are being deprived of the rights and dignified life given by the Constitution.
Apart from this, he also talked about reconsidering the process of handing over national assets to private hands. Mayawati said in clear words that governments should leave aside profiteering and their commercial thinking and follow the humanitarian policies of the Constitution, because giving 'work to every hand' is the biggest solution for the national interest. Demanding an end to the ongoing deadlock in the Parliament, he said that there should be meaningful discussion within the Parliament on these serious issues of students and youth so that democracy can be strengthened.
