A 23-year-old student police officer has been charged with serious charges following the kidnapping and rape of a young woman over the weekend. A student police officer has been charged after the young woman was rescued from her car. It is alleged that the girl was kidnapped and raped. Mohammed Hassan, 23, who works with Greater Manchester Police (GMP), was detained while not on duty in West Yorkshire. According to GMP, a call was received to 999 shortly before 10:20 pm, in which a young woman could be heard in distress inside a vehicle in the Manchester area.
Even after this information, the officer was successful in locating Mohammad Hasan and arresting him. On Monday evening, he was charged with several crimes including rape, kidnapping, attempt to strangulate, sexual assault, theft and dangerous driving.
Mohammed Hassan was remanded in custody and is due to appear at Manchester Magistrates Court on Tuesday. He has been suspended by GMP. Specialist officers and multiple agencies are helping the victim, who is aged 20-29. Assistant Chief Constable Mark Dexter said GMP detectives and staff have been working on this investigation for the last 48 hours to ensure charges are laid.

We are investigating it thoroughly and are using special resources for this, so that the victim can get help and justice.

Assistant Chief Constable Mark Dexter said that I assure that we will work with the Crown Prosecution Service to take this matter to court as soon as possible and will also expedite the necessary action for misconduct under the rules. All necessary and concrete steps will be taken in the interest of the victim and the public. GMP has also referred the matter to the Independent Office for Police Conduct (IOPC).
