Chhattisgarh News: Chhattisgarh's world famous historical Bastar Dussehra festival is going to start once again with its traditional rituals and tribal culture. This unique festival dedicated to Mother Danteshwari will start from August 12 and will continue for about 75 days. On the auspicious occasion of Hareli Amavasya, Dussehra festival will begin with Paat Jatra puja ritual in Danteshwari temple premises on 12th August.
Paat Jatra puja will begin
During the Paat Jatra puja rituals, Manjhi-Chalki, Member-Memberin, Pujari, Patel, Naik-Paik and Sevadar associated with the traditional system of Bastar will be included. The traditional ritual of making tools for chariot making will also be performed. Bastar Dussehra Committee has appealed to all the sevadars, villagers and distinguished citizens to participate in this puja vidhi.
Important rituals will take place in September
According to the main program of the festival which lasts for 75 days, Dairy Gadai Puja Vidhan will be held on 24th September. After this, Kachngadi will be organized on 10th October and Kalash Sthapana Puja Vidhan will be organized on 11th October. Jogi Bithai ceremony will take place on 12th October.
After this, Navratri Puja and Rath Parikrama Puja will be held every day from 13 to 18 October. Bel Puja Vidhan will be organized on October 18 at 11 am. Maha Ashtami Puja and Nisha Jatra Puja will be held on 19th October.
Major traditions will take place in October
Kunwari Puja, Jogi Uthai and Mavli Parghaav will be organized on 20th October. On October 21, Raini Puja rituals and Rath Parikrama will be performed inside, while on October 22, Raini Puja rituals and Rath Parikrama rituals will be performed outside.
On October 23, Kachhan Jatra Puja will be held in the morning and the historic Muria Darbar will be organized in the afternoon. On October 24, there will be a farewell to the rural deities under the Kutumb Jatra puja ritual.
Formal closing will take place on October 27.
Bastar Dussehra festival will formally end on 27th October with the farewell puja of Mavli Mata Ki Doli. In this way, this festival, which will last for about 75 days, will bring forward the rich folk culture of Bastar through its different traditional rituals.
