New Delhi, August 8, 2026 – Indian Institute of Technology- IIT While participating in the 57th graduation ceremony in Delhi, on Saturday, Prime Minister Modi gave the most prestigious honors of the institute to the bright students, which include President's Gold Medal, Director's Gold Medal, Shankar Dayal Sharma Gold Medal and Perfect Ten Gold Medal.
On this occasion, Prime Minister Narendra Modi had congratulated the students graduating from IIT Delhi. During this time his cheerful attitude was visible. He told the students, “Something else must be going on in some corner of your minds. Baba Bageshwar No, but something must be going on.” The Prime Minister asked the students to look back and be thankful to their teachers and support staff as they embark on a new chapter in their lives.
Addressing the people present there, the Prime Minister said, “Many students have received medals for their success. I heartily congratulate all of you. However, it would have been better if there were more girls among them. Sorry. Why only one or two? There should have been more. Just as your families are feeling proud today, I too am proud of you all.” While drawing attention to the concerns of the students as they were leaving IIT Delhi to face the world, Prime Minister Modi had asked them to live this moment to the fullest. He suggested that they should not forget the teachers and campus life in their journey ahead.

PM Modi said, “Today all of you and all the students are present in this program. But something else must be going on in some corner of the mind. Every student must have a picture of the future in his mind. Many students must be waiting for their first salary, some must be preparing for a new beginning in a new city, many colleagues must be dreaming of their new startup, and some must have set the goal of the next competitive exam. Everyone's path is different, everyone's dream is different. But despite all this, there is a feeling. Which will be the same in the minds of all of you.” He added, “From orientation to convocation, you will feel satisfied with your journey, but also excited to start a new chapter. So I say, live the moment to the fullest.”

'Param Pragya' supercomputer inaugurated
Prime Minister Narendra Modi was the chief guest at the 57th inauguration ceremony. He also inaugurated 'Param Pragya', an AI-driven high-performance supercomputing facility at the Sonipat campus of IIT Delhi. According to the Prime Minister's Office, the state-of-the-art Param Pragya facility is expected to significantly enhance the institute's capabilities in AI, data science, advanced computing and interdisciplinary research.
