Guwahati: Dibrugarh Warriors chased down 111 with ease to beat Nagaon Rangers by eight wickets in match 23 of the Imperial Blue Packaged Drinking Water Assam Premier League 2026, at the ACA Stadium on Wednesday. It was a fifth win of the season for the Warriors. Diwiz Pathak’s unbeaten fifty led the chase, with Rituraj Biswas offering solid support in a productive second-wicket stand. Earlier, Sidhartha Sankar Baruah picked up three wickets to help restrict Rangers to an under-par total, despite a battling knock from Jitu Ali.
Rangers falter after promising start
Warriors chose to field first and made the perfect start, with Ranjan Bikash Das removing Sumit Kashyap off the third ball of the match without a run scored. Jitu Ali then top-scored for Rangers with a hard-fought 42 off 35 balls, hitting six fours, while skipper Anurag Talukdar chipped in with 26 off 30. But the innings unravelled in the closing stages, and only three batters managed to reach double figures. Rangers lost their last five wickets for just 19 runs as the innings fell away. Baruah finished with 3/15, while Ranjan Bikash Das, Doikho Das, Jitumoni Kalita and Roshan Alam took a wicket each, bowling Rangers out for 110 in their 20 overs.
Pathak and Biswas steady the chase
Warriors lost Jay Borah early, trapped lbw by Sunil Lachit inside the first over. Pathak and Biswas then took charge, rotating strike well and finding the boundary regularly to keep the run rate ticking. Their 84-run stand for the second wicket put the result beyond much doubt. Biswas made 33 off 34 balls before being run out in the 14th over, but by then the chase was already firmly under control.
Pathak sees Warriors home
Pathak carried on in fine touch, finishing unbeaten on 64 off 58 balls with nine fours as Warriors reached 111 in 17.3 overs to complete a comfortable eight-wicket victory.
