A political controversy has erupted in the state after a video of waterlogging during rains in the Noida International Airport complex located in Jewar area of Gautam Buddha Nagar district of UP was circulated on social media. SP chief Akhilesh Yadav has targeted the state government.

Videos viral on social media show waterlogging in the underground passage leading from the airport terminal to the parking and taxi stand. In the video, airport employees are seen trying to drain the water. Not only this, due to bad weather a flight to Dharamshala was also canceled on Tuesday. SP chief Akhilesh Yadav, while sharing a video on 'X' on Wednesday, wrote, will boats run at the airport now? Where there is BJP government, there is massive corruption!

Government issued statement
However, in this regard, the airport's public relations department issued a statement saying that after the rain, the road connecting the terminal and the parking area was flooded, but our team normalized the situation within 30 minutes. There was no impact on flight operations or airport functioning. The state government also issued a statement on Tuesday night saying that after heavy rains, there was waterlogging for some time on the road connecting the terminal and the parking area.
The airport team immediately swung into action and ensured drainage within 30 minutes, following which traffic on the route became completely normal, the statement said.
The airport was inaugurated on 28 March

The Noida International Airport, developed in the Yamuna Expressway Industrial Development Authority (YEIDA) area of the district, is one of the most ambitious infrastructure projects of the Uttar Pradesh government for which about 1,334 hectares (about 3,300 acres) of land has been acquired. The airport was inaugurated on March 28 this year and commercial flight operations began on June 15. It has been developed under private-public partnership with the Government of Uttar Pradesh and is claimed to be at par with international standards.
