Digital Desk, Lucknow. UP Deputy CM Keshav Prasad Maurya has strongly attacked SP and Congress for opposing the FCRA Amendment Bill 2026. He said that the days of those doing politics on the Foreign Contribution (Regulation) Amendment Bill (FCRA) are about to end, yet they are not desisting from their activities.

Let us tell you, this new FCRA Amendment Bill introduced in the Parliament is being brought mainly to tighten the monitoring of funding received from foreign countries, increase transparency and strengthen national security.
Keshav Prasad Maurya has made a post regarding this on his social media handle, in which he wrote, “The days of those who do politics on the basis of FCRA are about to end, but still SP-Congress are not desisting from their antics. The hesitation of both of them shows that under the able leadership of PM Modi, the government has hit the hammer at the right place on FCRA. Both these parties are also avoiding transparency in the use of foreign donations because their politics. This is a strong tool. The Modi government takes decisions in the national interest and the heads of these two parties are those who serve their families.

The FCRA law came into force in the year 2010, after which it was changed by the Modi government in 2020. Let us tell you, now these include strict rules on the use of foreign donations, monitoring of bank accounts, limits on administrative expenses and the process of license renewal has been made more stringent. The government has also canceled FCRA licenses of several NGOs, which were accused of misusing foreign funds.
