Hormuz is captured by Iran due to the war. On the other hand, Iran-backed Houthis stepped up their attacks on Bab al-Mandeb, another important trade route in the Middle East. Recently, an Egyptian cargo ship was attacked in this channel (Houthis Attack). It is known that the ship was carrying military equipment of Saudi Arabia. 6 sailors died due to this attack. 3 of them are Pakistani. The ship was buried in the Red Sea. This information was made public by the Ministry of Transportation of Yemen on Tuesday.

The attack was carried out by the Houthis, an armed group supported by Iran. In addition to the death of 6 people, 10 crew members were injured in the attack. Among the dead, three are Pakistani nationals, one is from Indonesia and the other two are members of Yemen's National Resistance Force. The attack took place on the ship named 'Tihamah' owned by Egypt in the Bab Al-Mandeb Strait.

It is claimed that after the start of the war in the Middle East, there have been several attacks in Bab al-Mandeb along with Iran in Hormuz. However, this is the first case of death on this route due to Houthi attacks. Britain's Maritime Trade Operations also disclosed the attack. According to them, the ship was damaged by an unidentified missile attack. According to reports, the Egyptian ship was attacked on Tuesday while it was off the coast of Murad, Yemen. Apart from this, another small ship was also attacked.

It should be noted that the Houthis have accused Saudi Arabia of blockade in Yemen. In turn, on July 20, the Houthis started a siege against Saudi Arabia. It is claimed that the Egyptian ship had Saudi military equipment. Houthi claimed responsibility for the attack. However, Saudi Arabia has not yet commented on this issue.
