Delhi: Delhi Police has exposed a gang involved in human trafficking by luring women with the promise of jobs through social media. The gang members used to lure the victims with good salaries and better lifestyle in spa centres. After this, they were taken from Delhi to other states and handed over to spa operators. Police took action in Delhi, Gujarat and Uttar Pradesh and rescued 10 victims.
Case opened with missing girl
According to the police, the investigation began after a 15-year-old girl went missing from Dakshin Puri on May 9. On the complaint of his mother, a case was registered at Ambedkar Nagar police station. Investigation revealed that the girl was contacted through social media and was lured with a well-paid job and a better lifestyle.
Clue found in Gujarat
Technical surveillance and examination of digital evidence revealed that the girl was taken to Mundra in Gujarat. The police team reached there in a private vehicle and with the help of local police recovered the girl from a spa running in a hotel in Mundra, Kutch. During this, spa owner Damani Sushil Haresh alias Sushil and receptionist Lakshya were caught along with two teenagers.
7 girls saved from Ballia spa
As the investigation progressed, the police reached Ballia in Uttar Pradesh. Seven girls were rescued from a spa center there. The police arrested Monu Sharma and Sanjeev Maurya, who allegedly run the spa.
2 victims also found from Delhi
After this, action was taken in a premises located in Ganesh Nagar, Delhi. Two girls were rescued from here. Police arrested the 27-year-old woman who allegedly operated the premises.

According to the police, the accused used to identify girls living in vulnerable conditions through social media platforms and personal contacts. After this, they were promised attractive salary and accommodation facilities in the spa centre. Police said the victims were allegedly taken from Delhi to different states. There they were handed over to gang-affiliated spa operators. Police have arrested six accused.
Two accused still absconding
Police have identified Vinay alias Mahadev as a Delhi-based coordinator. It is alleged that he used to arrange transportation and accommodation. Meanwhile, the Prince who allegedly helped in taking away the girls is still absconding. Three teenagers were also caught during the operation. Two of them were considered victims on the basis of their statements and a separate FIR was registered in this regard.
