Digital Desk, Raipur.This evening the capital Raipur resonated with the sounds of patriotism. In the ‘Azadi ki Dhun’ ceremony organized in collaboration with the Culture Department at Pandit Deendayal Upadhyay Auditorium, 100 young artists from different regions of the state created a unique atmosphere of patriotism by performing live band together with various instruments. Chief Minister Vishnu Dev Sai attended the function and encouraged the young artists. In this special program organized before the Independence Day, the captivating presentations of patriotic songs drenched the present crowd with the feeling of patriotism.

Addressing the function, Chief Minister Sai said that ‘Azadi ki Dhun’ organized on the occasion of Independence Day is a golden opportunity to spread the spirit of patriotism to the people and remember the sacrifice, penance and sacrifice of the freedom fighters. ‘Azadi ki Dhun’ reminds us of the glory of history, realizes the duties of the present and resolves to build a bright future. For the first time in Chhattisgarh, the presentation of patriotic tunes on different instruments by 100 young artists together is a unique effort in itself. He congratulated the Culture Department and all the artists for this innovative event.
The Chief Minister said that music has the amazing power to awaken emotions and unite people. Even in the Indian independence movement, songs, poems and slogans played an important role in awakening the consciousness of independence among the countrymen. Patriotic songs boosted the morale of our revolutionaries and fighters in the toughest of circumstances and united crores of Indians for the goal of freedom. Even today, when patriotic tunes are heard, a feeling of pride and dedication towards the nation automatically awakens in the mind.
Chief Minister Sai, remembering the immortal fighters of the freedom struggle, said that we have achieved the independence of the country after innumerable sacrifices. Many revolutionaries sacrificed their lives for the motherland, thousands of fighters endured harsh tortures of imprisonment and lakhs of countrymen dedicated their all to the nation. The struggle of countless national heroes and freedom fighters including Father of the Nation Mahatma Gandhi, Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose, Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel, Veer Savarkar, Baba Saheb Dr. Bhimrao Ambedkar laid the foundation of independent India. Today we are able to realize our dreams in a free environment, the reason behind this is the penance, struggle and sacrifice of our ancestors.
He said that independence for us is not just a celebration of rights but also a resolve to fulfill our duties and responsibilities towards the nation. We should always remember that it is the common responsibility of all of us to protect this precious freedom achieved by the struggle of crores of countrymen, strengthen democratic values and take the nation forward on the path of continuous progress.
Chief Minister Sai, while mentioning the glorious contribution of Chhattisgarh in the freedom struggle, said that the land of the state also gave birth to many brave sons, who fought against injustice and British rule. Amar Shaheed Veer Narayan Singh challenged the British rule for the rights of the poor and the needy and made supreme sacrifice for the motherland. Bastar’s popular leader Veer Gundadhur led the Bhumkal movement and raised the voice of the tribal society against the British rule. The bravery and sacrifice of such great fighters is the proud heritage of Chhattisgarh.
The Chief Minister said that events like ‘Azadi ki Dhun’ especially connect the young generation with the struggle for freedom and its values. It is important for the new generation to know that behind the independent India in which they are giving flight to their dreams, there is the struggle and sacrifice of many known and unknown fighters. Taking inspiration from the ideals of freedom fighters and playing our role in nation building would be a true tribute to them.

Chief Minister Sai said that the illustrious Prime Minister Narendra Modi has pledged to make India a developed nation by the centenary of independence in the year 2047. This resolution is not just of the government but is a collective resolution of 140 crore countrymen. To make this a reality, every section of the society, especially the youth, will have to come forward with their energy, talent and potential.
He said that Chhattisgarh government is also continuously working towards building ‘Developed India’ with the resolve of ‘Developed Chhattisgarh’. Our effort is that the light of development should reach every village, every family and every person of the state and Chhattisgarh should play an important role in the progress of the country as per its potential and possibilities. He called upon the youth to contribute in building a developed India and developed Chhattisgarh by discharging their duties with the spirit of nation first.
Chief Minister Sai congratulated the artists and youth participating in the ceremony on Hareli festival and congratulated them on Independence Day in advance. He said that this celebration of independence not only reminds us of our glorious past but also inspires us to resolve to build a bright future.
On this occasion, Chhattisgarh Film Development Corporation Chairman Mona Sen, Chhattisgarh Sahitya Academy Chairman Shashank Sharma, Local Health Traditions and Medicinal Plants Board Vice Chairman Anjay Shukla, Scout-Guide Chairman Inderjit Singh Khalsa along with other public representatives, distinguished citizens, artists and a large number of youth were present.
