Massachusetts: In Massachusetts, America, a teenager of Indian origin has been accused of murdering his mother and younger brother. Arjun Arvind, 17, of Acton, was arrested Wednesday morning after an overnight search.
Arjun has been accused of murdering his 45-year-old mother Sudha Venkatesan and 14-year-old brother Siddharth Aravind. Apart from this, he has also been charged with two cases of murder, assault on a family member, driving without permission and theft of a motor vehicle.
According to the police, Arjun allegedly fatally attacked his mother and brother at their house in Acton on Tuesday and then fled from there with his mother's Honda Accord car.
Middlesex District Attorney Marion Ryan and Acton Police Chief Douglas Sterniolo said the incident occurred at a home on Martha Lane in the city of Acton, about 48 kilometers from Boston.
Revealed when the tutor arrived
According to police, the incident came to light around 6:30 pm on Tuesday evening, when a tutor reached the family home at the appointed time. When he could not get entry inside the house, he contacted Arjun's father. The father tried to contact the family, but could not succeed.
After this he informed the Acton Police Department. When police reached the spot, Sudha Venkatesan and Siddharth Aravind were found dead. The mother's body was found in the basement of the house and the son's body was found on the first floor.
The accused had absconded with the car
According to investigators, Arjun was missing with his mother's car. The police started searching for him. Police found the car in which Arjun was present in a parking lot in Wayland, Massachusetts early Wednesday morning. After this he was taken into custody.
Police said that injury marks were found on the bodies of both the deceased. However, the Medical Examiner has not yet released official information about the cause and manner of death. The weapon used in the murder is also being investigated.
Investigation regarding internet search also
According to the Middlesex County District Attorney's Office, the investigation revealed that Arjun had been exhibiting worrying behavior in recent days. The statement said that he had used the internet and ChatGPT to search for imaginary ideas or plans related to the murder of the family.
