Uttarakhand Tunnel Accident: of Uttarakhand A major accident took place on Thursday, August 13, in Chamoli tunnel accident area of Chamoli district. The under construction tunnel of Vishnugad-Pipalkoti hydropower project suddenly got trapped in the tunnel due to huge amount of water and debris entering the tunnel. What exactly happened in the tunnel?
A landslide occurred in an under-construction tunnel of THDC's hydroelectric power plant in Pipalkoti area on Thursday evening. Subsequently, a large amount of water and debris entered the tunnel. So the working laborers did not get much time to get out. Rescue teams immediately rushed to the spot.

Rescue operation by NDRF-SDRF
On getting information about the incident, the local administration along with teams of NDRF and SDRF started rescue operations. Rescue operations were hampered by water and debris in the tunnel. The teams are continuously trying to find the workers trapped in the tunnel.

After getting the information about this accident, Uttarakhand Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami took stock of the situation. The administration has been instructed to give top priority to rescue operations. Landslides and geological instability in the Himalayan region pose major risks in such constructions.

in an accident The injured laborers include Sunil Dewan, Habil Gudia, Nistar Bhingra, Vinod Savana, Dina Baigra, Khela Ram Bisra, Chabba Singh, Tilak Raj, Chandan Kumar, Awadhesh, Nandlal, Rohit Pandey, Pain Singh and Govind. Of these, Govind has been discharged after treatment, while Rohit Pandey has been referred to Srinagar for further treatment. It is reported that the other injured are undergoing treatment at Gopeshwar District Hospital.
