Shubman Gill Statement On Team Management And The Bcci

BCCI had announced a 15-member team before going on the Sri Lanka tour. But even before the end of the Test series, three players got injured. Jasprit Bumrah, Sai Sudarshan and Washington Sundar have been ruled out of the Test series. Aaqib Nabi has been included in the team in place of Jasprit Bumrah and Sarfaraz Khan in place of Sai Sudarshan. But there was a lot of uproar when he was selected in the team and then dropped out due to injury. There was a lot of discussion about the lack of communication between the team management and BCCI's Center of Excellence. Meanwhile, Shubman Gill held a press conference a day before the India-Sri Lanka Test match. At that time he was asked about this controversy. Then he called all these reports false.

What did Gill say about team management and COE?

Shubhman Gill said, 'We are continuously talking to them. Unfortunately, Sai Sudarshan's game has not improved as much as we would have liked. We cannot take risks in test matches. We have full confidence in the 15 players we have selected. Gill also said that the duration of a Test match is long and we cannot take any risk with a player who is not fully fit. A Test match lasts for five days, if it is an ODI or a T20, it is a different matter. It is not right to take risk in a test match. But he also did not forget to say that other players get more opportunities.

Shubman Gill also said, 'As expected, the lack of players in the Indian team has not had much impact on the team's morale. Be it anyone in our 15-man squad or we can give a chance to anyone in our final 11 in any case. They can perform well and win the match. Despite the changes in the team, he did not forget to say that India has prepared well before the series. He also said that 10 days before the start of the Test match will definitely benefit Team India.
