On Karnataka Home Minister Priyank Kharge's statement regarding RSS registration, BJP's National General Secretary (Organization) B.L. Santosh has hit back. He said that RSS does not need any registration for its existence and this organization has been working for a long time on the basis of people's trust.
news desk – BJP leader B.L. Santosh has targeted the statement of Karnataka Home Minister Priyank Kharge, in which he had raised questions regarding the registration of Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh i.e. RSS. Santosh said that the existence of an organization is not determined only by paper registration. He claimed that RSS has been working for years on the basis of people's trust and hard work of its workers.
Speaking at the 'Akhand Bharat Sankalp Diwas' program organized by 'Hindu Jagran Vedike' in Bengaluru, B.L. Santosh mentioned the history of RSS. He said that during the period of partition the organization worked among Hindus and even at that time there was no formal registration of RSS.
'The existence of RSS is not determined by registration'
B.L. Santosh said that RSS does not need registration to prove its existence. According to him, the organization has grown through the trust of millions of people and the network of its workers.
He said that the freedom movement and the history of the country should not be limited to just a few incidents. Santosh remembered the sacrifices of revolutionaries like Madan Lal Dhingra, Chandrashekhar Azad, Bhagat Singh, Sukhdev and Rajguru.
'No one gave freedom as a gift'
The BJP leader said that no one had gifted independence to India. He claimed that the country became independent due to the struggle and sacrifice of thousands of freedom fighters, revolutionaries and soldiers.
He said that in the 80th year of independence, the country should remember the contribution of those who sacrificed their lives for freedom.
Issue of Hindu population and India's identity also raised
In his address, B.L. Santosh also raised the issue of Hindu population in India. He claimed that in areas where Hindu population is less, the feeling of connectedness with India may weaken.
Giving the example of Shivajinagar and Chamarajpet assembly seats of Bengaluru, he said that in the last two decades, a Hindu candidate of any political party has not been able to win the elections there. He also challenged political parties to field Hindu candidates in the next elections.
Santosh said that Hindus being in majority is not necessary to defeat any community, but to maintain the cultural identity of India.
Priyank Kharge's family was also mentioned
Referring to Priyank Kharge's family, the BJP leader reminded him of historical events. He claimed that Mallikarjun Kharge's family had faced hardships during the era of the Razakars of Hyderabad and had to flee Gulbarga, now called Kalaburagi.
Santosh claimed that at that time RSS workers had fought the Razakars. He told Priyank Kharge that his family's history should also be remembered in this context.
'Unified India is not just an administrative dream'
B.L. Santosh also raised the idea of 'Akhand Bharat' prominently in his speech. He said that united India is not just an imagination of any administrative system, but a cultural and nationalist idea.
Appealing to the people to take a pledge, he said that the coming generations should see the dream of a united India coming true in their lifetime. Citing the example of the unification of East and West Germany and the unification of Vietnam, he said that it is not impossible for the countries to reunify.
Giving the example of Israel, Santosh said that Jews living in different parts of the world were brought back to their motherland and the country was strengthened. He claimed that India is also becoming stronger and India's opponents in the world are now feeling insecure.
