New Delhi: Amidst America's arbitrary tariff policies and monopolistic economic decisions on the global stage, Prime Minister Narendra Modi has made it clear that India will not compromise with its national interests at any cost. For some time now, America has been ignoring the global economy and giving priority only to its own interests. Be it imposing arbitrary tariffs or threatening to impose 100 percent penalty on countries doing business with Russia. He has forced the whole world to think. In this background, while giving a strong message from the ramparts of the Red Fort, PM Modi said that now no one talks about globalization, everyone is only interested in their own interests and in such an environment, India will also have to protect its own interests. Expressing his resolve to complete the pending work of 70 years in the next 7 years, he called for the country to move faster on the path of self-reliance.
FTA with more than 40 countries
The Prime Minister made it clear that India will no longer depend on the economic whims of one or two countries. Since 2014, India is working on Free Trade Agreements (FTA) with about 40 countries of the world. The country's micro, small and medium enterprises (MSMEs) will have the biggest advantage of this huge market.
PM Modi said that India's products like textiles, machinery and medicines should meet global standards and reach every market in the world. For this, there will be no compromise on the quality of production.
Strong message from India in the era of globalization
To stand strong in the global competition, the Prime Minister has announced 'Next Level Reform'. He said that the government, society, industry, producers and farmers, all will have to make major changes in their traditional thinking and working style. From the Red Fort, he gave the slogan of 'Saptadhara', which will be implemented in the next 5 to 7 years so that the goal of a developed India by the year 2047 can be achieved. PM Modi stressed that the future of the country cannot be shaped by the policies and rules of the past, rather new rules and policies will be made according to the dreams and needs of the future.
Government's special focus on manufacturing, defense and green economy
To make India self-reliant, it will be mandatory to manufacture everything from small parts to large products domestically in the manufacturing sector. Referring to the defense sector, the Prime Minister said that now India and the whole world have well realized that there is no other option without self-reliance in defence. India not only has to meet its defense needs but also has to become a major global supplier by developing next generation defense technology. Along with this, new opportunities for green jobs will be created by focusing on areas like green hydrogen, renewable energy, green mobility and blue economy. PM Modi stressed that the future of the country cannot be shaped by the policies and rules of yesterday. Describing agriculture as the backbone of the economy, he said that the entire world market has now opened up for Indian farmers through food processing and FTA.
