Sitapur. A heart-wrenching case has come to light from Jai Prakash Narayan Sarvodaya Residential School located in Sitapur district of Uttar Pradesh. An 11-year-old student of class six living in a hostel here has been accused of sexual harassment by seven senior students of class eight. A video describing the pain of the victim student went viral on social media. After which there is panic among the police and district administration. The police has acted swiftly in this matter and filed a case against all the accused students.

The victim told her ordeal to her father crying on the phone.
According to the information received, the victim student had called his father from the school hostel and tearfully informed him about the misbehavior and asked him to take him away from here. After this, when the relatives reached the school, the student tearfully narrated his ordeal, the video of which went viral on social media. In the video, the student is referring to the harassment given by senior students. According to the information received, a student from a village in Sandana police station area passed the entrance examination and took admission in a school run by the Social Welfare Department in April. From April 13, he started studying in a residential school. A few days later, five students of class eight of the school started calling him to their room and pressurizing him to commit immoral acts. When the child did not listen to them, he was forcibly raped. In this, two other students supported the accused.
Case registered against seven senior students, police engaged in investigation
Considering the seriousness of this incident, the police has taken swift action on the complaint of the victim's father. After registering the case against the accused, the police are taking further legal action keeping in mind their age and the scope of the law.

District Magistrate constituted a two-member investigation committee
Considering the seriousness of this sensitive matter, the District Magistrate of Sitapur has constituted a two-member high level investigation committee to find out the negligence of the school administration and the reasons for the incident. This committee includes SDM Mahmudabad and Dr. ML Gangwar. This committee will thoroughly investigate the incident and submit its report to the district administration, on the basis of which strict action can be taken against the school management or the warden for negligence.
Serious questions raised on security arrangements
This incident has raised big questions on the safety of children in government residential schools and the monitoring of hostel wardens. The administration has ordered the school management to strengthen the security arrangements in the hostel and provide counseling to the students. So that such an incident does not happen again in future.
