Kia Sorento — Automobile company Kia India has released a new teaser of its premium SUV Kia Sorento. The company will officially launch this car in the Indian market on 4 September 2026. In the teaser, the company has clarified that this SUV will come with All-Wheel Drive (AWD) system. With this, it will become Kia's first ICE (Internal Combustion Engine) powered car in India which will have the option of AWD.

AI voice assistant and high-tech features

The company has also revealed the most special cabin feature of the car through teaser. Live Gen AI powered in-car voice assistant is being provided in the new Kia Sorento. This AI assistant will easily understand and respond to the voice commands of the driver and passengers. Apart from this, premium finishing, digital cluster and latest connectivity options will be seen in the interior of the car.

Engine and powertrain options

Kia Sorento is set to be launched in the Indian market with strong-hybrid petrol and diesel engine options. The engine power and specifications are as follows:

  • 1.6-litre turbo-petrol (Strong Hybrid): This global-spec model comes mated to a 6-speed torque-converter automatic gearbox. This engine generates power of 238hp and torque of 380Nm.
  • 2.2-litre turbo-diesel: The engine from Kia Carnival can be used in the diesel variant, which gives power of 202hp and torque of 440Nm.
