New Delhi, 16 August 2026: Five Army personnel went missing last evening following flash flood caused by heavy rains in Dibang Valley district of Arunachal Pradesh. Due to the flood, two makeshift camps of the army were washed away. Meanwhile, four people were killed in a major landslide at a road construction site in Upper Subansiri district.
Teams of 58th battalion of ITBP, 62nd RCC of General Reserve Engineer Force, local volunteers and Arunachal Pradesh Police have been deployed at the spot to search for the missing soldiers. Relief and rescue operations are underway.
