The political turmoil has intensified over Prime Minister Narendra Modi's statement that he is a Naxal minded person. Senior Congress leader P Chidambaram has reacted to this statement. At the same time, Union Minister Kiren Rijiju also reacted to the Prime Minister's statement and said who has been called a mental Naxal.

Kiren Rijiju told whom the PM called a mental Naxal?
Kiren Rijiju wrote on his social media that those people who support Maoists and do not accept the Indian Constitution are called mindless Naxals. He also placed those supporting separatists and standing in favor of Article 370 in this category. Rijiju also said that those who talk about cutting the chicken's neck to separate the north-eastern part of India from the country have also been called mental Naxals. Chicken Neck is an approximately 22 km wide narrow corridor of West Bengal that connects the northeastern states with the rest of the country.

P Chidambaram's answer
After Prime Minister Modi's statement, P Chidambaram has given his reaction on social media. He wrote in one line in his post that he is proud of the fact that he is a mental Naxal. Political controversy increased after this comment of Chidambaram, only after which Rijiju posted that the Prime Minister had not called the opposition leaders as mental Naxals.
What did PM Modi say on Independence Day?
Prime Minister Narendra Modi addressed the nation from the Red Fort on the 80th Independence Day. In his speech he mentioned the government's action against Maoism. Narendra Modi said that the country has achieved success in eliminating the armed Naxalites who took up arms in the forests.

PM Modi said, 'For many years, people with Maoist thinking remained present in public life. He was even a part of many committees of the government. Even after the armed Naxalites are eliminated, the mental Naxalites are still looking for an opportunity. They are finding ways of violence and trying to take the country in the wrong direction.
