On the 208th day of the ongoing campaign ‘Gangster Te War’ in the state, Punjab Police raided 571 identified and mapped locations of gangster associates across the state.
It is noteworthy that ‘War on Gangsters’, a decisive battle to make Punjab a gangster-free state, was launched by Director General of Police (DGP) Punjab Gaurav Yadav on January 20, 2026. Police teams from all the districts in coordination with Anti-Gangster Task Force (AGTF) Punjab are carrying out special operations across the state.
Precautionary action against 235 persons
On day 208, police teams arrested 307 persons including one weapon, taking the total number of persons arrested since the beginning of the operation to 61,346.
Apart from this, precautionary action has been taken against 235 persons. Police teams have also arrested 2 fugitive criminals during the action.
