Ahead of Independence Day, security agencies launched a major operation against the ISI-backed terrorist network, the Shahjad Bhatti Network. Over 200 suspects and persons associated with the Shahjad Bhatti network have been arrested in operations conducted in 14 states. According to reports, security agencies conducted simultaneous raids at various locations in 14 states. Home Minister Amit Shah also gave information about this operation.
During the operation against the Shahjad Bhatti network, security agencies have seized a large quantity of IEDs, arms, live cartridges and grenades. Some of the seized grenades also bore the markings of the Pakistan Ordnance Factory. Pistols, cartridges used for espionage and CCTV cameras were also seized from people associated with the network. According to the agencies, the network was involved in terrorist activities and conspiracy to spread violence in the country. Acting in time, security agencies foiled a possible terrorist plot before Independence Day. Let us tell you that in the month of July, Maharashtra ATS questioned 102 people who came in contact with Shahjad Bhatti.
Home Minister Amit Shah said about the action – The Modi government dismantled the ISI-backed terror group ‘Shehzad Bhatti Network’ before Independence Day and foiled its plans for dangerous attacks by arresting more than 200 members. Indian security forces dismantled the network in a simultaneous operation at different locations in 14 states, a prime example of India’s ‘zero-tolerance’ policy towards terrorism. A large amount of material was recovered from the group, which received funding from the ISI, including IEDs, grenades with Pakistan Ordnance Factory markings, pistols, live cartridges and CCTV cameras used for surveillance. This network was involved in many terrorist activities.
