After falling behind in the first half, England made a strong comeback and in the 38th minute, Rushmeyer Stuart scored a goal to make the score 2-2. After this, Croft Henry scored a goal in the 43rd minute and gave his team a 3-2 lead.
India could not score a single goal in the fourth quarter. In this way the pressure on the Indian team increased. After this, in the 55th minute, Bandurak Nicholas scored his second goal for England and gave the team a lead of 4-2. After this, the Indian team lagged far behind in the match and in the end Team India had to face defeat by 4-2. In Hockey World Cup history, Team India last defeated England 32 years ago in 1994.
